Marine Police

I just recieved this one in a large lot purchased from auction. Appears to have originally had East west lugs but now has North south, Victorian crown. Measures 59 mm tall by 35 mm wide. I wont be keeping it but have no idea if its British etc, any help in identifying would be appreciated.

I believe that this badge was worn in Malta. If I'm wrong no doubt someone will correct me.

Found a post on Facebook showing two badges :

Malta Marine Police..the round one is for Const. while the other one for Sergeants !!

Don't know if this is correct.

Thank you. I was reasonably convinced the badge was from Malta and you've confirmed it. There are also similarly named buttons that go with it.
