Ebay seller greybear, use the search function here on the forum and you'll find plenty of info on him.

Best regards to all.
The square feathers and pointy wing tips are not found on original badges, either KC or QC.

Hi Thomas,

Does this statement only apply to AA badges?

It applies to all Parachute Regiment cap badges.

Thanks for accurate observation, Thomas. I had not noticed this before. Like I said earlier, it's probably an unofficially commissioned badge.

Can Shaun please confirm if this pic. is the reverse of the badge in question?

If it is then it looks a well constructed typical Indian made badge. I think it is very difficult to condemn this badge because it has square feathers. I would be happy to own it.

Not all Parachute Regiment badges with curved feathers are genuine as is the case of the one sold by greybear, so perhaps not all square feathered ones are duds.

Regarding the square feather issue I tend to agree that genuine WW2 badges had curved feathers. It is a positive feature that I look for in ER11 badges particularly those marked JR Gaunt London. I am not sure about the square feathered ER11 type.

I would like to see some input here from anyone who can vouch for a square feather ER11 example as definitely being a genuine badge with provenance.

Jack.

Yes that is my badge. It must say you guys are all far more civilised that the gentlemen on the NZ badge section (my specialisation). I have not been too active on the forum for a couple of years due to the behaviour there.
