Default RAF Ferry Command Police

I believe that this badge is a RAF Ferry Command Police cap badge but have been unable to find anything about 1. this badge or 2. the Police component of Ferry Command. The badge is brass and measures 55 mm wide X 50 mm high.

Any information about either the badge or Ferry Command Police would be appreciated. Thank you.

This badge gets a one liner (along with RAF Police Auxiliaries) and a line drawing in Ch 13 of the book 'Badges and Insignia of the British Armed Services. It just states that they were attached to wartime Ferry Command.

First time I have actually seen a photo of one.

Default RAF Ferry Command Police badge

Thank you cga00,

It's great to have a reference for this badge. A relative of mine was locally recruited and served in this organisation during WWII in Gander, Newfoundland. Gander was a major Ferry Command base of operations that flew heavy and medium bombers and, later, even twin-engined fighters from North America to Britain.

Default RAF Ferry Command Police badge

To be honest, I have never heard of them but now I want one for my HM Forces Police collection. Can I have your permission to use this image in my collection? Thanks.
Regards Jerry.

Default RAF Ferry Command Police

Hi Terra Nova,
Being another Canadian on the forum I always love reading about all of the Canadian and Foreign pilots who ferried these aircraft to Europe for the War Effort. What a brave group of men and women fliers who took this important task on. You said they recruited your relative. Did they recruit him for the RAF Ferry Command Police or something else. Am I to assume you have this badge or you might come into possession of one? Having said that, this is one badge that I have been looking for for a long long time. If you may know where one might become available, I would be interested. Let me know if you would.
Keith
