Default A GROUP OF UNKNOWN INSIGNIA. HELP NEEDED PLEASE.

Hello Everyone,

Just continuing sorting through my collection and have taken photos of another selection of badges that I cannot identify. As usual any help with any of them is much appreciated. Please note that number 4 is rumoured to be the Sudan Infantry School cap badge WW2.

There are 8 photos in total.

Many thanks
Bill

If a fawn-grey thread chevron on black no. 10 is a WWII era Waffen SS "tropical" rank chevron for a "Sturmmann".
The brass crossed rifles no. 4 looks like a British army marksmanship badge.

Hi Didier
Thanks for your reply. In that case does the G stand for Great Britain?

Merci mille fois

Number 10. Looks more like a Naval version 'yellow and blue' chevron.

My thoughts were that it could be grey on dark green, silver braid on black or dark green, finally plumped for the beige-grey on black option.
I can't tell what's what with crowded images of this quality admittedly I don't spend much time on them as they're a pain to look at.
(I have a mini collection of WWII German Navy cloth, goes back to the 80's when an old school mate bought a little white canvas tie neck bag at a jumble sale at "The Brockley Jack" for 25p.
It contained around 40 badges, chevrons, cap tallies, PT vest badges, all sorts of KM.......).

With regards to No. 10, I too would be inclined to suggest that it is a KM Gefreiter rank patch. If it's a dark green backing cloth then it could well be KM coastal artillery.

A couple of yellow on dark blue KM chevrons, a gold on green KM coastal artillery one and a grey-beige on black WSS tropical one.

hi, #16 and #24 shoulder tabs look quite like Czechoslovakian inter-war.
If they're looking for a new home, drop me a line.
cheers,
s.

Thanks Beaker 123 for your input. I have tried to look the badge up online from your comments but to no avail. Is there anything more specific about it that might help?

Thank you again
Bill

Default Para Wing

Bill, could I get a better picture of #2 please. I lose detail when I blow it up, which is causing me some trouble in id'ing it from all my reference material. From your original picture, it does not look like a Para Regt. hat badge. Looks more like a white metal para qual on that scrap of material.

Thanks in advance.

Ian
