Default HELP APPRECIATED WITH CLOTH BADGE

I bought this badge recently as a mystery object. Neither my friends nor I can come up with any sensible attributions The cipher seems to read C I.

Can any Forum members help?

Kind regards, Malcolm.

It is the badge of NAAFI's Imperial Club which provided staff with club facilities.

It appears on the cover of the Club's magazine as shown.

It is interesting to note that the C is in front of the I on the cloth badge and the I is in front of the C on the magazine. I have always thought that the trick of reading these ciphers is that the first letter is the most prominent as on the magazine.

The order of the letters on the cloth badge may be a simple mistake or there may be no truth in the prominence of the first letter theory.

Could the I C stand for “Imperial Court”. This was the headquarters of the Naafi in Kennington, London, until moved out to Surrey in 1940. Just a thought.
