Hi, as far as I know, the brass collar was a restrike, not original. Regards Andrew

In my book a restrike or a forgery are both fakes. Have a great weekend.

Added a few pieces to this card.
Can someone tell me what other badges were worn by the CSARC? |

They continued to wear the CSARV hat and collars. Only the shoulder title changed.
There are also CSARV / CSARC officers badges in hallmarked silver. Only ever seen one set though. Collars were same as white metal ones but cap badge was different. |

Hi Ron,
Buttons were white metal with crowned winged wheel. No title or scroll. Steven Last edited by Milmed; 07-01-22 at 06:24 AM. |

CSARV officers silver and gilt collar badge.
Hallmarked F&S (Firmin & Sons) Birmingham 1903. 9.75gms Early nice quality example with silver lugs. Polish residue remains in the flames. What are my chances of finding another? |

Hi Ron,
Very nice find and you dont need anouther. This is the Officers Cap badge. It was different to the regular white metal cap badge. Officers collars were same as regular collars, but in hallmarked silver. Steven |
