Default ADMIRALTY CIVILIAN STAFF MALTA ?

I have this bullion badge for the ADMIRALTY CIVILIAN STAFF which has a makers name? on the back - Griscti's Malta - and I have only just noticed it.
Is this for Malta or would it have been used at other RN Dockyards?

Jerry,
I have a number of Sealed Pattern cards for embroidered army and Royal Marine badges which are annotated as having been sent to Griscti Malta. I understand that they held MOD contacts up until the days of Dom Mintoff and Maltese independence in 1971.

Default Admiralty Civilian Staff Malta?

You beat me to it Jerry!

Malta had a thriving naval badge manufacturing industry for many years. Many of the badges made there would have been used by the Royal Navy in the Mediterranean but the majority of them would have been used by the Navy all around the world.

I have many naval badges of all types which were made in Malta.

Pete

And the Royal Marines had a clothing depot there with their own tailors.
