Default Plastic Buttons - A.C.I. 488/1941

One for the button boys now - ACI 488 of 1941, clearly indicating why 'plastic' buttons were introduced on varous forms of dress - simply to conserve metal for more urgent uses.

When I was issued with a Greatcoat in 1970 it still had Plastic GS Buttons, in fact it had never been worn LoL Had to change them to RAOC Anodised Buttons.
