Default Britannia button???

Hello all

I have this button (26mm) and hope that someone can tell me for sure what it is and when it was worn. I have done a little research on the firmin address and understand it is in the 1895-1915 period. If I am wrong please correct me.

Thanks as always,

Andy

Default Mess waiters button

Hi Andy, you have the large OFFICERS MESS WAITERS button. There is a small size button as well, worn only on the waist coat.
A complete jacket was on show in the NFK mus

I have a jacket, but no waist coat,

The buttons have been latter used on REGT blazer by some old boys.

There are two main types of the button, one is silver plated, the other is wrapped.

All the best andrew

Thanks Mike, I did consider that, but could find no reference. I thought perhaps Bank of England, but all the images that I found had "Bank of England" on.

Thanks folks Just goes to show how much there is to learn. Andrew mentioned there being a jacket with this button in the Norfolk Regiment Museum. I have been there countless times and again, I refer you to my signature
