Default ANY IDEARS ON THE 2X2 CM BLUE SQUARE ?

Hi Guys
I picked up these 3 to day woundering what the 2x2cm blue square is any idears ? cheers steve

5 Wilts, 129 Inf Bde, 43 Inf Div - pre Jun 42 (when 128 Inf Bde moved to 46 Inf Div).

A similar set with a maroon square - photo taken in the Museum of the Devon & Dorset Regiment, the Keep Dorchester.

CORRECTION - piscture was probably taken at The Wardrobe in Salisbury - Museum of the DERR

Perhaps they should hand it over to The Wardrobe! My records show that this was worn by 4 Wilts - also 129 Inf Bde. Very important to be able to distinguish soldiers from two battalions of the same regiment in the same brigade at the same time - especially when it comes to the CMP's area of responsibility.

Senior moment! I suspect I took the picture at the Wardrobe in Salisbury. Earlier post corrected.
