Identification of Trade Badges
For an unidentified badge there are a lot of versions of the MM Badge. Is there any evidence of its use as Medium Mortarman. Also if LM is suggested to be Light Mortarman could TM be Trench Mortar.
Also I assume the WW1 T Badge is signals related? Any comments. |

Hello,
The LM badge is an official badge of a Light Mortarman introduced in 1921. Various versions of text exist. The others are unoffical WW2 ones, MM being possibly Medium Mortarman or Motor Mechanic. TM is another Mechanic badge, the T could be for a variety of things, Tank, Telegraph etc. The T badge is earlier, seen in WW1 and often on Royal Artillery soldiers and I believe it to be Telegraphist, an unofficial badge. regards
