Default Gloucestershire Regt/Wessex Bde...help?

I recently acquired 2 side hats, the 1st Wessex Bde converted from Glos Regt (buttons added) lazily att'd by split pin & hat likely WW2 era by the look of it.

The 2nd, Glos Regt but NO back badge, nor are there holes for one, despite a careful search?!

I assume a silver anodised back badge should have been worn?...apologies for lack of specialist knowledge.

I can send pics to any interested party, too big to att'd but can go by email if you pm me, THANKS

Could it have had a cloth back badge?

there certainly was an AA staybrite back badge, though oddly the fs cap I own came with metal badges front & back. I do have an AA back badge in my AA collection.

Default Same era

Thanks for those replies...Jerry your cap & my Brigade one seem almost identical in finish. I forgot to add, although it came with an anodised Bde cap badge, one can see two holes where the Glos white metal cap badge was pre Bde slider type.

Bob, good thinking but I've not seen a cloth back badge except in bullion or for helmets. The quality of the 2nd cap almost looks officers but not quite & it has an anodised cap badge with no sign of cloth badges being removed from side or back.

Maybe it was picked up badgeless and a collector added a cap badge but didn't know to add a silver anodised back badge or couldn't find one?

On an entirely different note, I got a Glos beret from a Crossmaglen peeler complete with GRAY-GREEN! painted cap badge & black painted back badge which I'm rather proud of.
