Default BEFORE POSTING YOUR PICTURES MAY I RECOMMEND..

Just a thought, before posting your pictures place a ruler on the bottom and side. This may help to ID badges if there is a size associated with the photo.

Cheers

What you need is some of these CSI rulars:

The PDF file on this page will print them to scale, laminate and cut them out for use!

Whilst it is usful to know the size of badges I'm not sure that putting too much detail on the web is a good idea- it just makes it easier for the fakers to copy a badge with preciseness. If a forum member needs more detail on a badge then I'm sure they could pm the person who posted the picture. The detail wouldn't then feature on the web for all to crib from.

Stephen.

Mike, I love the rules that you have posted, I will definitely download them and use them for ebay listings of non badges.

Like Stephen, I believe that there is a risk of aiding the fakers out there. I would be more than happy to PM details to legitimate forum members, any time.

Cheers,

Phil

doh, not allowed to use them for ebay

I think you'll find that some of us already use a metric grid as a background. I use a graduated cutting board.

Hi, the free prog d3_caption_this_picture has a ruler.

If you reset the dpi the ruler will change.

It saves re taking your pictures.
It works best with scanned pictures.

The best gauge I've seen was a tube of pringles! My pal (who is a great big Yorkshireman) he found ebay a few years ago and sold some of his train collection. When I asked him why he used the pringles & not a ruler! he said "they were the only thing around and everyone knows the size of a pringle tube.
