Default Sas insignia

May I please have opinions on these 3 SAS related insignia.

Original or fake?
WW2 or post-war?

Is the wing the so called 1944 pattern?

Indeed the beret badges are weird, although one clearly has some age to it.

Hello Trog,

They can put it through a washing machine, rub it on a rough surface to pull a few threads, stain it with tea, I think the processes are endless for adding an aged, 'salty', used look to cloth items.

I wouldn't be surprised if you could replicate mothing by applying a controlled flame to areas of the cloth.

Of course it helps if you put a couple of loose threads in prior to going through the processes, looks like its been removed from a uniform then.

Fortunately the forum cloth specialists can usually identify the fakes and forgeries.

Yes, most people do usually refer to it, they were made here, from an ordnance sealed pattern, there is less variation, unlike the earlier examples that were far more of a cottage industry being produced on campaign.
I like them very much, the only other thing I would add would be not to pay too much, a huge number were made, they are not rare.

The beret badges are fakes. The wing is the ww2 1944 pattern . The wings have also been worn after the war by 21stSAS.

Cheers

From the same source another SAS wing but I think this one is post war or a copy? The front looks good but the back is different
