Hello Didier,
The cap badge for sale in the bon coin is a good and scarce officer pattern made by Scully Montreal during WWII. The chute and the scroll are made of silver a quiet heavy cap badge. J-F

Is it the photo or my eyes? Does it looks like the gilt has been removed?

Hello Didier, It would be nice to see the base of the lugs to determine if they are factory original or have been repaired. Either way, this is a good badge at a fair market price. The Officer’s cap badges are truly becoming a tough find. Cheers

I have the same flat back Scully type and it doesn't look like it was ever gilded.
