Women's Auxiliary Air Force Badge?
Calling all RAF/WAFF collectors....
Bought this one of Ebay expecting it to be a "Bog Standard" RAF Cap Badge.. Nice suprise when it turned up, it's a little beauty, Gilt finish and probably half the size of the regular pattern badge.. Measures 27 x 34 mm. At a guess I would say (would like it to be) a WAAF Officers Cap badge!! Can anyone confirm my suspicions? If it is would it be WAAF? They were not formed until 1939.

See MHS Bulletin May 1954- Metal Badges of the RAF 1918-1953 by Ernest J.Martin page 50
" The badge worn by all ranks below WO1 was introduced in 1919 and is identical to that by all ranks of the Royal Flying Corps - apart from the change of letters........This badge in reduced size was worn on the collars of the sergeants patrol jacket or mess dress introduced shortly before the last war " P.B.
