Here's my display of RhAF badges, though there are quite a few badges I've got since I put this together, so it's hardly complete...

No problem, SRAF officers in the Second World War merely wore the Rhodesian Staff Corps badge or an RAF Officers badge depending on the particular unit they were serving with, both badges are very common indeed and you will certainly have absolutely no trouble whatsoever in buying original examples of both.

The Lion and Tusk and Crown over Eagle and wreath also appears to have been worn by Warrant Officers after the SRAF became the RRAF into the 1960s. Here is a photo from the early 1960s. A WOII is wearing this badge and a WOI is wearing an officer style badge with crown.

Some things I have not been able to pin down exactly with dates yet are:
(a) When did the QC over batteleur eagle badge replace the lion and tusk RAF style for commissioned officers? (b) When did the RRAF in wreath replace the lion and tusk over crown over eagle in wreath for Other Ranks? |

The attached badge cards may help. The badges are all in the collection and the art work is my own. If I may ask, please do not distribute for commercial purposes.

A couple more of the cap badges. The two-part officers badges seem to be quite scarce. The one-part isn't official but I suspect probably theatre made.
The flying school badge is sheet-silver. Cheers, Alex |

As far as I've been able to work out (from photographs) the eagle with lion and tusk was worn c.1950-51 by the SR Aux AF. They even wore them on SD caps which I thought was unusual as they looked more like an RAF officer's side cap badge to me.
