I enjoy this thread every year, seeing other members highlights.
I've three if I may.... First is a 1st Volunteer Bn Northumberland Fusiliers FS cap badge, thanks to forum member Mike (Quartermaster) Second, a 'cut & shut' 1916 Ayrshire Yeomanry cap badge, never thought I'd get one. I got it from the late Frank whittle (RIP). Third, is an unused looped Firmin Die Ayrshire Yeomanry, this badge I got from Keith Hook. Cheers Chris Last edited by 3dg; 11-12-22 at 06:11 PM. |

14th Hussars Corporals' arm badge. Brooched and the eagle has lost its black oxidised finish to the front.

Stunning badges in this thread !
![]() I will add my favorite purchase from 2022, a complete and matching set of cap badge and collars for the RASC, the rare Edward VIII. version. Die cast and all with the makers mark of Fimin London on reverse. For my collection of Imperial German Navy rank badges it´s the rare sleeve badge for the blue No.1 dress jacket of a Senior-Engineer-Applicant. Die struck from brass and silver plated. These badges were worn on the upper left sleeve and not removable. Height 9,8cm. A happy and peacefull christmas season for all member, kind regards Markus |

First pattern 'wide' RAOC cap badge in anodised alluminium. Designed with integral lugs that fold back, making it all one piece. Believed an early trial pattern. There are very few known to exist in collections. This example is in very good condition with lugs solid.
A very rare cap badge |

It's nice when something turns up that's all but impossible to find.

Gibraltar Volunteer Corps 1916-1920
After many years searching for this badge I finally landed one. Not an easy catch! I only know of three, possibly four, examples here in Gibraltar. Gib Vol F 2.jpg |

Yes Chris, quite a find. Not cheap but there was a huge gap in my collection of GVC, Gib Defence Force and Gib Regiment badges.
Thanks, Ian |

I've a very small 'aside' collection of Gib Regt, since I went there for three weeks with the army in 1989, great place. Would love to see your Gib badge collection, PM me if you like, and we can discuss further? Cheers Chris |

My ancestor was at Waterloo. As a light infantry soldier he was stationed on Wellington's right flank, covering the retreat in case the battle was lost.
Here is a small size officer's button from the regiment in which he saw his toughest battles. |

Hi all
ive had a few really nice items this year but ive chosen this one for this thread. although i bought it and had it for a few months all the while admiring it, there was another forum member who wanted it more. so once i had had my fill of looking at it, its now on its way to someone who im sure will cherish it more than me. cheers BC Last edited by badgecollector; 14-12-22 at 07:50 AM. |
