Even though I've posted a handful of times, I thought I'd better introduce myself.

I mainly collect items from regiments and units that I've either served in or that are/were affiliated to. I also collect items from the Guards Division, Army or Royal Navy chaplains, local infantry regiments (the London Regiment, the Rifles and the PWRR). I also collect Black Watch / Royal Regiment of Scotland items due to a distant family connection.

I was originally in the Royal Navy as a Radio Operator. I then joined 41 (PLK) Signal Squadron, 31 Signal (Volunteers) Regiment briefly before transferring to C (Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry) Squadron, Royal Yeomanry as a part of their REME LAD. There I stayed until a previously undiagnosed medical problem excluded me from further serving.

I have to say that this forum is proving to be a veritable goldmine of information of what to look for in sifting out the fakes, re-strikes etc. It has also shown me that I've been going to the right kind of dealer (ie someone who knows their stuff) for sourcing my collection.
