9th Lancers collar?
Picked this up this morning, I assume it's a collar badge but am a bit thrown by the four lugs. Would these type of badges ever have been worn on any form of head dress?
thanks Tony.

Nice collar. These 4 looped versions are the early ones I believe, later I think they changed to just two loops NS, and around 1950 ish they had a single post type. Not sure of dates of transition I afraid but someone on the forum might know. I'm not aware of a 9L collar being worn on any form of head dress. Hope thats of help. Regards Rob |

G'day Tony
Yes its a great little badge and matches the one that l have, they would make a nice pair. Also the QVC cap badge has 4 lugs and is almost identical except for the crown and the size. Regards Phil. |

Hi Tony Phil,
I also have one with 4 lugs which I think is a collar but can you give a size in mm as I dont have an English penny to compare. Many thanks, regards, Iain

9th Lancers Collar Badge.
Good evening.
In case it is of interest: this colar is also found in hallmarked silver, with four loops, bearing various assay dates and maker`s marks. Enjoy. ST. |

G'day Iain
The 4 lug QVC cap badge is 38mm from top of crown to the centre bottom of the LANCERS scroll. I also have a Wm KC, Wm QC and a KC OSD bronze badge with 3 lugs all are about 38 mm top to bottom. The 4 lug KC collar is just under 30 mm for the same measurement Regards Phil. |
