35th (East Lancashire) V.A.D. B.R.C.S. Cadets. 1917.
A recent acquisition of what must be a scarce unit.

Very nice. First I've seen of a VAD cadet unit. Wish we could see a good picture of the large patch they're wearing! Probably rarer than hens teeth though!
Very nice find indeed!!! Terry |

Most unusual design of cuff rank on the officer at right, who’s also wearing a mourning button. I suspect it will be difficult to track down any record of the various steps in cuff rank adopted by the VAD BRCS Cadet Officers, they seem to be different to the main BRCS organisation.

Found a site that has some 1914 photos of the "Men's Section of the Rushome Division of the East Lancashire Branch of the British Red Cross Society" which may be of interest to some members. They are wearing the large 'Red Cross' emblem.

Mike that is an awesome site and will take some time to read through and digest it all. I did notice one picture of what appeared ot be SJA VADs wearing their medal around theith throat. which I thought was interesting.
