I wonder if it was a 'bar' , possibly "Committee" or "Ladies Section" but I've not seen that type of attachment before ?

Possibly WWI overseas service chevrons in gilt and red and / or blue enamel.

I don't have any sweetheart badges with overseas chevrons attached, other members of the forum do (I think Tigerlily has a RA one), a Google search will show some examples.
On some the the chevrons are attached to the badge by an articulated fitting in order to lessen the risk of breakage.

The actual overseas service chevrons worn on uniform are cloth, the year 1914 represented by a red chevron, the following war time years by blue ones.
The sweetheart could have a single red or a single blue or combination of single red and multiple blues, or just multiple blues, depending on hwhich and how many years service overseas are represented.
