Default Scottish Militia Button?

Hi All
Is this 'Royal Aberdeenshire' button a militia button? It is silver plated but it's mounted in a frame so I haven't taken a photo of the rear.
Thanks, cheers,
Alex

According to Gwen Squires plate 10, number 21, it is Royal Aberdeenshire Militia.

According to Major H.G. Parkyn the dates & titles for the unit is:-
Aberdeenshire Militia 1798-1855.
Royal Aberdeenshire Highlanders 1855-1881.
3rd Bn., Gordon Highlanders 1881.

Thanks for all the replies. I bought this with 19 other buttons more than 30 years ago, all tied together with a bit of wire. I paid 20c each for them here in South Africa, and even then I knew it was a good one, I was just starting out collecting then. It is a silver plated officer's example.
Cheers,
Alex
