Default Gurkha SPS Officers Beret Badge - Black Backing

Officers of the Gurkha Staff and Personnel Support Company (GSPS) of the Brigade of Gurkhas wear a distinctive bullion and silk embroidered GSPS badge on an AGC green backing on their AGC green berets in 'working dress'.

The 'All Ranks' silver plated/gilt new metal GSPS badge (NME01) is worn on the Felt ('Slouch') Hat - and presumably by British Officers on the Forage Cap - in other orders of dress.

The GSPS Facebook site has photos of GSPS Officers attached to airborne and other Gurkha units wearing the same green-backed badge on the maroon, dark blue, etc, berets of their seconded units.

However, I noticed on the Ayo RGR PRI website that the Officers' bullion beret badge is also produced on a black cloth backing - see attached image.

Does anyone know in what circumstances the black-backed beret badge is worn, and perhaps have photograghs of it being worn by GSPS Officers?

Thanks

Perhaps intended to be worn by GSPS officers and WO1s attached to Queen’s Gurkha Engineers, Queen’s Gurkha Signals and Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment?

There cannot be very many GSPS officers?

GSPS and AGC in RSIGNALS units wear the green beret in my experience. There is not a single QGS regiment but individual sqns within RSIGNALS regts.

Default GSPS Officer badge

I have a GSPS Officer bullion badge that has a Rifle Green backing. When looked at closely you see the difference. When I photograph the badge you cannot tell the difference.
