Default 'C' Sub Section, unknown battery, India 1942

Marc,

very difficult to tell. It might be the dividing line between the red and the blue halves, a grenade, the number 5 or a trick of the light.

At 14 men it might be a detachment for a 3.7" gun, thus a HAA battery.

That is interesting as many of the names on the back are not uncommon but I have found a Frank Victor Morris of 240 Battery, 77 H.A.A. who was KiA 29th March 1943. He came from Bridgenorth in Shropshire which is very close to where I bought the post card. It may be just a coincidence of course.

The only positively identified soldier is Douglas Albert Couldrey who came from Maidenhead.
