Hi all,
Having seen the recent thread regarding the AG wings and the excellent notes from David191 on how to spot fakes I decided to submit my bullion Pilot wings for appraisal. The wing, 2nd row far right is mint, also, the one bottom row 1st left. The front picture reflects the rear wings. Any comments would be appreciated. Regards, Graham |

My humble opinion,
I think the 2nd row left and two miniatures look OK, 70/30 on the bottom row left...I think I would be happy with it in my collection, and unfortunately, I don't like the rest. Last edited by Nichollg; 23-07-23 at 12:06 PM. |

The two I like are the very top and directly below in silver both are Indian made period examples.

I'm not a post WW2 collector & therefore cannot comment on any of the 'Queens Crown' wings shown really.
I'm not a fan of any of these wings except for the smaller Mess Dress wing on the left of the second row, which stands a chance. The question that should be asked with these types is ' what are they trying to be?" Where & when would they have been worn if they were all correct? Unfortunately the silver bullion wings look like they are one of the recent fakes available & when looking at thread used on the attachments, wing backing colours & reverses, & the age of the bullion, etc. they don't seem to add up in my mind. Best regards, David |
