This looks to me to be an Officers Bronze cap/collar badge for Uppingham School OTC made from a Leicestershire bronze left hand collar badge. Probably due to the fact that there were not many OSD badges required for the OTC.

One with blades too! Is the lugged one a collar? (cat and pigeons I think!!)

It's not the first time I've seen a badge like this. One was one of the Surrey schools (Reigate?) with a Queens used as the backing. I think it's on the OTC section of the forum.

This item is a cap badge and the bronze badge is still worn by members of Uppingham School Combined Cadet Force (the very latest issue is made by London Badge & Button Co and is totally flat on the back). It could be as recent as 5 years old or could be 50 years old
(BTW I sometimes work with the school and have obtained both patterns of cap badge form them in recent times) OC14 |
