Actually it's an Irish Fusiliers cap. The 8 on the eagle is from the 87th Foot capturing the Eagle of the French 8th Light Infantry at Barrosa in 1811.

Thanks Phil, Its dated 1914 on the inside with a broad arrow stamp, also came with a WW2 armband thing with an "Irish Fusiliers (V.R.)" patch on the front and a single chevron, with the name verlaan on the back

Like the badges?

The Canada with the Maple leaf Badges on the Right 3 rows down are WWI whoever they used the same Badges in WWII, even though they had Two new types casted. Also used in the Boer Wars. Since Regiments didn't have Regimental Cap badges and they continued using these badges that were used by CEF in WWI and WWII during training, and as transitional badges for troops awaiting assignment to battalions.

Canadian Medical Corps Badges all on the Bottom row.

Whoever the 2 Badges RCA on first picture bottom starting from the left 5 and the 6th which is slightly higher are interesting in the Colour and Style made

Pic 2: Canadian Grenadier Guards (middle left); Winnipeg Grenadiers (top, right middle); pr. Edmonton Fusiliers collars (left top); small heap of RC Artillery Maz. S1 & S2 collars (lower right), depending on CANADA vs. UBIQUE. RC Engineers collars have an extra flame in the middle front, which I don't see here.

Pic. 3: Irish Fusiliers (Vancouver Regiment), Maz. M24a and another Winnipeg Grenadiers one over to the right (right, 3rd row from bottom).

Don't see any other bombs or flames except what might be an Engineer's collar pr. next left & above right of the QC Mounties badge.

[QUOTE=capbadge;85127]Bagsy?

This is like calling 'shotgun' for the passenger's seat. It's an old schoolyard expression meaning 'I stake my claim!'.

I know just teasing you, when I went to Wales in '04 got a taste of the dialect there, apparently everyone could tell I had a "Canadian" accent though I didn't think so- you badges are in the mail!

Sorry I have been so late guys responding to messages, more coming soon!

Hi Stu, I know this us an old post but was wondering if you still might have the grenade shaped badge with royal cypher and be open to sell or trade for it. Thanks again for any reply

Will post pictures of the backs later! Ask which ones you want me to take pics of!

These are all of the badges I found minus most of the ones I took in the last picture.

My Questions: What is the 36th badge I have? Rarity?
Any special neat ones?
Most of this needs to go, but I would like to keep a few for myself. I need a collar and 2 shoulders for my Eatons Machine corps set!

I'm keeping the hats but wanted to share them- I like the 8th fusillers busby- unusual to actually find a cap badge on a cap

Enjoy!
Hello Capbadge,
In addition to seeing your newly acquired collection of cap badges also enjoyed the RAF Type "B" Flying helmet, complete with Mk VIII googles and Type "G" Oxygen mask. Have its companion Fleet Air Arm Type "C" helmet comparably equipped, that as I can best recall was partially acquired at Crown Surplus in Calgary, decades ago (1976). See attached image.

Thought you might possibly be interested in an article I wrote for my blog page a few years ago; http://arnhemjim.blogspot.com/2013/1...swordfish.html associating my interest in the helmet.

Best regards,
