unknown intelligence Corps shoulder title
Dear Forum
Just picked up a very nice medal, insignia and documents group to a WW2 intelligence Corps WO2 the slip on titles have me intrigued I C (1) obviously intelligence Corps 1 but what does the 1 relate to? Pretty sure that the Corps was never deployed in Battalion numbers so any ideas what the 1 relates to would be appreciated. Best regards Paul Last edited by kingsman64; 20-11-15 at 08:38 PM. |

I think it is Intelligence Corps ( India ). See Bosleys postal auction of 26th July 2006 lot 597.

Correct! (or so I thought). Looking at the slip-on again it is definitely I.C.(1) and I seem to recall having a brass title I.C.1 somewhere. The slip-on could just have been a production error, but some local makers got it right ie I.C.(I) Mike

Intelligence Corps (India)
There is a KD rank slide with a major's crown above IC(I) bottom left on my collection.

I.C.1
That's two I.C.(1) or I.C.1 items that really exist. Someone out there must have an idea of what they are. To me, the metal title looks Indian made - so could it be "Indian" and not "Intelligence"? Mike
