Default what is this badge is it trench art

hi all
could you tell me what the badge is for and its 42mm and bronze we think so could it be gun related as its one giants ring
and I think the badge will be the clue

maybe gun barrel is there a 42mm gun any way its a strainge looking thing

The badge is ASC, WW1. If it had been WW2 it would have been RASC.

I would say this was a very nice serviette ring, made from a shell driving band (as has been said above).

I'd agree with Graham - a serviette ring from an Officers' Mess. It's customary for a departing officer to present a gift to the Mess on being posted out - this was possibly such a gift.

My thought exactly. It's from a fired shell of small calibre, you can see the rifling marks. It could have been made to fit around a walking stick?
