Default Norfolk Regiment GM with lugs

Bought this GM WW1 it’s been repaired but looks like once was prepped for lugs which I’ve never seen on these pattern of badges?

I don't believe there was ever a thing as prepped for lugs, the way old English firms would never allow the waste of time, materials and most of all the money that goes with it., from the picture it seems to be a very recent slider with a flat near the bend and the solder marks grey so it was probably a converted brooch not so long a go.
