This is the article Leigh refers to - I hope Peter does not object to reproduction here. My guess is that the last two items were added to the article as a more general observation, although I acknowledge reference to 'Polish' in narrative for 10.
ALSO Having gone through some notes from Len Whittaker, he mentioned a printed Chindit sign has been illustrated in wear - it is found here in 'Special Force' by Jesse Shaw - and is a picture of Jesse. It certainly looks printed. Len felt it was shown worn on the wrong arm, he suggested it was only worn on the Right arm. I have not studied sufficient images to comment, but share the views of Len that on the left arm it faces backwards. Any thoughts welcome Mike Last edited by Mike B; 04-02-19 at 04:53 PM. |

I'm not quite sure why Peter Taylor thinks badge # 10 and 11 are Polish style?
Anyway, happy to hear Peter thinks the wings are a very rare piece as I happen to own one. |

An interesting thread.
I don't like the printed chindit of Peter Taylor, but the image isn't clear, maybe it looks and feels better in the hand. Keith

Perhaps best to ask first!
Although, it is a Crown Imperial article so no issues with his own publisher. Last edited by Frank Kelley; 05-02-19 at 08:40 AM. |

Frank - fair point.
Keith - Thanks to Simon for kicking it off, and Len whose notes are a great legacy. Mike |
