With the typical "Master" symbol above the hammer, and the use of latin numbers I would immediately guess it's a US Special Forces ODA or Operational Detachment 'A', also known as an "A team", badge.
ODA 1261 - perhaps one of our US or ASMIC members can confirm?

Hi Ian

We looked at that , the only problem is,there is no F Co. in SF ODA Team numbering system, they only go to C Co. level.

The breakdown would be: 1(1SFG) 2(2nd Bn)6(F co.) 1(SOT Team).

There are many various ODA patches, this one is unknown, we cant trace the scripture, we can make out an" ER" underneath the hammer?

It might not be SOF.

It could be any ISAF Country, we are only guessing its British.

cheers

Phill

Hi Phil

According to Google Translate "i sigri er hefnd" translates from Icelandic to "in victory is revenge", that coupled with Mjolnir suggests one of the Nordic/Scandanavian countries.

All the best

Graham

It's not British in my opinion.
