Any idea what this is? - British & Commonwealth Military Badge Forum

I bought this circular badge today at a military insignia show in California. The dealer knew nothing about this badge so he sold it to me for 3 dollars. I'm guessing something to do with Saudi Arabia. It is 1 3/4" in diameter (4.5 centimeters) and has black enamel lettering.

Had a friend look at this who reads some Arabic. It supposedly says something like Western Army of Arabia.

The same design is on older Saudi army buttons.
