Default Ayrshire Imperial Yeomanry

The back of this badge looks very new, slider also looks new and a little thin.
It does have a faint crimp mark and slider attached by gold braize.
So not hopeful and would like a second opinion.
Thanks
Chris

A good badge, probably WW1 manufacture.

The slider tends to be known as an extruded (but not extruded)slider and a guarantee of WW1 vintage but was known to me as flat rolled bar when I still used it back in the early 80's with many unhappy memories of having to use it for certain jobs.

A good badge as already stated.
I've a few AIY patterns on my album,

one is the same die as yours but a shorter slider
Cheers

Chris

So still on the learning curve.
However I am definitely getting better, once upon a time I would have taken one look at the back of this badge and thought for its age it looked way to new.
But now I take a good look at the entire badge.
Just could not believe my luck on finding this, I recently took a gamble on a job lots of badges. I only took the risk after using the forum to cross check the few photos.
Best buy I have ever made
Just goes to prove you read/listen to what more experienced members of this forum say about badges, eventually it starts to sink in.
Thanks once again for taking the time to comment
Regards
Chris
