Default Semi-Annual Local Show

Went to our semi-annual local show today and it was a complete bust for me. I did see a nice RCAMC cap badge I wanted, but the guy was waaaaay over the moon on price. I could buy it with a set of collars and patches for what he wanted. He also had a nice Guards Medic Asst. patch that I would have considered too if I didn't already have it - but didn't even bother to ask after he priced the cap badge! Sadly, the majority of dealers over here have no idea how to price British items.

If you didn't want NAZI, or guns and bayonets', then there was little else to look at this time. We always have that stuff (I'm being kind), but never so overwhelming as this time. But that's the way it is and next time could be just the opposite.

Driving over there I had all these images going through my mind of all the great pieces I was looking for at cheap prices!!! Yeah, right!

I did manage a few nice goodies for friends, but that was it. Oh well, it comes around in the spring, so I'll remain hopeful.

Terry

Terry, I know how you feel. I have stopped going to some of our bigger fairs due to the same reasons you give. I don't want weapons or uniforms or equipment etc and I certainly don't want to buy ALL the bits and pieces to make up a Jeep and drive it home....ha ha
Well, my next fair is at Purbrook near Waterlooville Sunday 28th.
Jerry,
