Question Unknown

D.... K... Brass Band, just a guess, the white metal wreath is similar to other badges which are often linked to sweetheart items.

Hi Rob,
Good suggestion, thanks. I wondered if it might be German, K for Kraftfahrer (Driver).
Cheers, John

Building on what John suggested, could it be Deutsche Bahn Bahn Kraftfahrer (German Train Train-Driver)??!! Or Deutsche Bundesamt fuer Bevoelkerungsschutz und Katastrophenhilfe (German Civil Defence)??!!

Amazing what you come up with when you Google it

BDBK Bund Deutscher Berufs Kraftfahrer (German: Federation of German Professional Drivers)

also came up with this!
DBBK Dead Birds and Blind Kids (band)

This badge came with a lot of South African badges. Could it be linked to Kimberley, going by the K and the rough diamond in the centre?

Possibly 'Diamond Brass Band - Kimberley', UK or SA.
The design is in keeping with many brass and silver band badges.
There was also a 'Kimberley and District Brass Band' in Nottinghamshire, that too is always a possibility.

Hi John

I have the same badge in my collection. It got it some years ago from a collector in Cape Town.

I believe the badge to be "De Beers Battery Kimberley", which was on the backing card when I received the badge.

I have attached a pic fyi.

Hello Shahl,
Thank you for your information, and for the picture showing your badges, very nice.
There was a De Beers Maxim Battery active in the siege of Kimberley during the Boer War.
Regards,
John

John ... thank you for the insight.

Very nice badge you have as the one you have is the only other that I have seen before and I have been collecting for 40 years.
