Default 29th Battalion Irish Horse Imperial Yeomanry

Hi chaps, I have removed this badge from my Album as doubt has been cast over its originality. It has 2 lugs were im told it should have 4, I contacted the dealer who sold it to me and he is quite happy to refund me but he stated that the one he owned in 1958/60 ( pre repo era) did only have 2 lugs.
Can anyone one shed some light on this does this badge come with 2 and 4 lugs or just 4
Any help appreciated
Malc

Hi Malc,

I have a method of ratting out the ones I don't want. Rather than look for detail, I tend to look for voiding/fretting space patterns and fixings (although these can be replaced). I have attached some photos for you.

I like the fact that it is cast and I don't think it is the cap badge, although the collar must have had two loops (cant think why it would have four).

Cheers,

Garry
