Default Tower Hamlet Rifles

Hi All,

just a couple pics from a recent flying visit to London, These were in the Tower of London. If anyone had any doubts as to the excellence of Victorian badges, this should solve that problem. Just beautiful

Cheers, Tim

For the record.

The badge shown in the first post above and the HP shown at the left in post #3 are, as the designation on the badges says, of the Queen's Own Light Infantry. A militia regiment of the Tower Hamlets. These two badges are thus not of any of the Tower Tower Hamlets Rifle Volunteer Corps (or in short: Tower Hamlets Rifles), but the others in post #3 are.

Spot on. Here’s an officers helmet plate to another Militia Regiment.

Yes, and those titles on the badge are often short (well, still rather long) for the official designations like this one:
The King's Own Light Infantry Militia

and the other one above
The Queen's Own Royal Tower Hamlets Light Infantry Militia

And again a most beautiful badge/HP

Although I have a decent collection of TH plates, just looking through my reference pictures there are so many out there I don’t have. 4th & 10th Rifles for example.
