Default 3rd Battalion Monmouthsire Reg to share

Thought I would share this 3rd Bn Monmouthshire OSD badge as I haven't seen that many genuine ones. Cracking detail. All credit to Firmin.
Cheers
Mark

Nice Monmouthshire related album Eddie. Very nice to see the silver version and also the smaller silver type. Thanks for drawing my attention to it.

I also see you have some interesting items to the RMRE. Interestingly (or perhaps not) I spent a couple of years with the RMRE whilst I did an OND in Engineering - so good to see.
Cheers
Mark

I see this is noted as the 3rd Battn Monmouthshire Officer Service Dress badge. Out of interest and I'm struggling to find info on this, what cap badge would an officer in same battalion in the Second World War wear when in Battledress? Would it be the same badge?

Hi,

During WW2 the 3rd Monmouthshire regiment introduced a smaller version for the beret, please see attached photo for variation in design and size.
