EUOTC has been restruck using the original die - I personally would only buy one with a slider though.

If I'm being absolutely honest, the only one of those that I'd be happy to own is the KSLI, others may disagree (the better Robin Hoods has a curved Gaunt mark)

I've always thought drilled slider holes were to sow the badge in place- does sound daft as it would make cleaning difficult- a button stick or similar would be needed. The Robin hoods looks to have a duff makers mark and the date number 2 should be right against the cross edge. Regards, Paul.
Ah- we have thought about this before- https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...d+holes+slider

The KSLI is not a Pagri badge. The slider is really not particularly long and is often seen on earlier badges.
Pagri badges usually had very long sliders and were often clipped as a result.
I like the Edinburgh U. badge myself.

Any thoughts on the large Rifle Brigade badge ? Would this be for a glengarry ?

Cheers, Mark

Always at least half a dozen of these on eBay at any one time. Often described as cap, glengarry and pouch badges.

Hi Mark, the Rifle Brigade badge is a copy of the cross belt badge, made to look like a cap badge, quite a few around unfortunately.

The odd thing regarding the copying of the RB badge is that the pattern of KC crossbelt badge only lasted for a couple of years. Only one scroll under the cross. The "Pyrenees" scroll was added under the "Peninsula" scroll in 1905.

Cheers Guys,

not a big problem - cost me the grand total of £3.50 and no postage ! Another for the 'research' box which started off as a small bag...
