Default Household Battalion

Looking at the buttons and the H.B. shoulder title I am pretty sure that this soldier is a member of the Household Battalion. I am happy to be corrected if it is mis-identified.

Given the darker colour of the title I would go for the Honourable Artillery Company as they wore a blue title with red letters - like that attached - and the buttons could be the intertwined and reversed GR cypher of the Grenadier Guards buttons which the HAC wore in white.

Did the Household Battalion actually have a coloured embroidered title?

Jon,

many thanks for your help and I agree that H.A.C. (Infantry) is more likely than the Household Battalion. I had thought that he was wearing Life Guards buttons.

I too think that Jon has hit the nail on the head with his ID of HAC infantry.

I agree with Jon and Toby - buttons are HAC (GGds) design.
