Research help needed for colured patches

I'm currently portraying a Lance Corporal of the East Surrey Regiment, 1st Battalion. While doing research I came across a lot of conflicting information on what coloured divisional and brigade patches that perticular battalion wore, if they wore any at all. I've had a lot of symbols come up for the time period (1917) that I'm trying to portray, but I can't for the life of me figure out what it was. Any help is appreciated, I want to try and sew on the correct patches before I go any further with my impression.
