Default Trade Badges

Is there any significance to the lighter shade of material found on these trade badges. Possibly not British Army. The 2 would probably have been the same colour prior to fading.

I would associate the colour combo to South Africa.

I wouldnt typically associate those colours with SA no.

I always thought Canadian ones were a slightly lighter colored khaki?

Canadian badges are of a distinctive green shade.
