R.C.A.F. - Unusual Collar Insignia
Found on estate sale an Unusual Collar Insignia bagged with R.C.A.F. buttons.
If somebody know what it is and what time period it is from - will really appreciate any HELP! |

The plane looks like it could have come from the WWII EFTS cap badge. The metal maple leaf is a similar ETFS style but I haven't read or seen of a metal version before, Hopefully others will know more.

zorgon has the id. It is the insignia for an elementary flight training school, part of the the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. The closest motif to your example is the one for #10 Mount Hope E.F.T.S.

Interesting. Another reference indicates the same badge was worn by #10. Perhaps there was some standardization as the war continued.

Interesting it seems to be cut from a shirt collar. I have seen it worn as a wedge cap badge.
