Default K.O.Y.L.I WITH LONG LUGS ??

HI , is there any special reason for these long lugs or just a manufacturers variation ??

Tend to be WW2 vintage whereas WW1 tend to be on sliders.

Six patterns:

The original pattern was a collar and lugged with brass lugs.

A slider was added pre WW1.

Circa 1934/6 (KLR has the date) the slider was replaced by these wide brass strip lugs.

WW2 Plastic version

Post WW2 w/m version with slider

A/A version.

Very difficult to get a good picture at this time of day.........

The "tombstone" badge in situ.

Stamped in the cap is a K.O.Y.L.I. number.

I think I read somewhere on the forum that the badge with long flat lugs was introduced in 1938 to be worn in the khaki Universal Field Service Cap. I've got two slightly different patterns in my KOYLI collection as well as this nickel plated one, presumably from when the cap badge changed to w/m in (I think) 1950.
