Is it a TV prop???
Hi
I've picked up this this fusilier's badge with its hackle and I want to know if I've got a prop from Soldier Soldier or if it belongs to another regiment other than the 'King's Royal Fusiliers!' It seems genuine enough. Can anyone help? |

Made originally for the 'Soldier Soldier' series, way back in 1991!
See Robin Hodges book, 'British army badges', page 531. I believe they were made by a guy by the name of Hammond[?], now deceased, who started the AMMO brand, now owned by Dolman & Narborough in Birmingham. The badges are quite common [I have about 6 left from when I was able to purchase the residual stock after the company changed hands] but the hackles are rarely seen. If you are eagle eyed, you will sometimes see the badge in other military dramas, so the props company must still have a few lying around. T |
