Default Cap Badge Collection

Recently acquired these three photographic prints of a cap badge collection. The prints were mounted and framed originally but I have no idea of their age. As colour photographic prints they may date from the early 1950s to last week!

They appear to show "genuine" cap badges each mounted on a coloured backing to show the regiment's facing colours with a typewritten title.

The first print shows Cavalry Regiments 1914 with the pattern changes post 1922, the amalgamated regiments and war raised and disbanded in 1948.

The other two prints show the Footguards and Regular Infantry of the Line 1914.

A very smart way to display a collection, possibly from a museum. Has anyone seen this collection?

Tim

Unfortunately quite a few matching and incorrect regimental colours.

I haven't seen these before, but I agree nicely displayed and they do look well, thanks for posting them.

Thomas, Yes I see what you mean. At best some simplification and duplication. The Gallaher "Army Badges" set of cigarette cards shows cap badges against more accurate regimental backgrounds?

I'm not familiar with the Gallaher cigarette cards but the ones you show seem to look the part. Another source might be the stable belts website: http://www.stablebelts.co.uk/
