Viking long-ship enamel badge.
I am not sure if this badge is military but I would be grateful if someone could identify it. It will be offered for sale if it isn't military.

For what little my opinion is worth it is the 13th U-Boat Flotilla based in Norway between 1943 and 1945. Probably a modern reproduction item, but those with more knowledge than myself will confirm either way.

It never occurred to me that it might be U Boat related and yes, I do not think that it has any great age. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I will look into it further.

Yes repro, the pin to the rear is held on with a coffin shaped plate - oval with the ends cut off. These were never found during the Third Reich era so are the most obvious red flag for all sorts of pin back badges. The AGED badge on the link above shows the same coffin shaped back plate so also repro.

Many thanks for the update, it was amongst a whole lot of badges put aside for me by a house clearance dealer and was not expensive, so my education in U Boat flotilla badges has cost me very little.
