Default 2 Caps 13th and 15th Hussars

Just recieved these 2 badges in the mail this morning. Just want to run them by the forum members before I put them in my cavalry frame. Any comments before I put them away?

Well they are both perfect and in superb condition. Have they been come from an auction house with a penchant for over-cleaning? Nice badges either way.

The badges look great, very nice examples. Well done in finding them. Maybe you could put in the album the other badges you have as if the others are up to this standard you have a very nice collection.
Cheers, Dave

Default 13h and 15H badges

Hi Jim

These are two excellent examples of the badge makers art; well done.

I hope they are in the frame by now!

Best wishes and continued good hunting.

Gordon

Two very nice pre 1903 (construction) examples.

Cracking!

If I'm not mistaken, those are two fine lots from our last postal bid auction http://www.auctionbid.marway-militaria.com/bid/bid.php

Next auction with part two of this collection will be up for sale in late November.

Alan O, I hope we are not considered the Auction house the has a penchant for over cleaning...... Infact, most will tell you we don't clean anything (at least that's what my mother in law likes to say)

I actually presumed that they were from one of the well known UK auctioneers.

There were some nice cavalry badges in the auction, I'm waiting for one to arrive myself. However I expressed a bit of doubt about the 15th Hussars because of the footed lugs. It's too similar to a fake QVC version I once had, all it needs is a different centrepiece.

Hi Keith, I mailed your package out on Monday, it should be with you early next week.

Badges are a funny thing, you can have 4 people say they are good and then one person questions it, where do you ever find out for sure?!

I should just mention that with our auction there is a full return policy, if you're nothappy with any purchase. I find the front and back pictures a huge help to the bidders to get a glimpse of the badge up for offer.

Thanks Jaime,

You're right, it's a personal thing and basically boils down to what one wants to see in a badge otherwise it's sits unhappily in the collection. Looped examples of the 15th H with a KC undoubtedly existed and there were similar badges in the Dix, Noonan and Webb auction today both KC & QVC.

No, I didn't bid but I browsed them yesterday. I must warn you a lot of the bulk lots were full of copies (which they did identify and warn the bidders) but there were a few others amongst them they'd missed.

Hi Keith, Thanks for letting me know that your badge arrived.

We picked up the Winnipeg Police Helmet plates lot. I have no doubt they are fine.
